Alex Shams is a journalist based in Bethlehem, Palestine. He received his master’s from the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at Harvard University in 2013 with a focus on gender in modern Iran. He is an editor-in-chief of Ajam Media Collective (AjamMC.com), a blog focused on culture and society in Iran and Central Asia.
Ali Abdi is a PhD student of Anthropology at Yale University. He is one of the founders of Havaar, the NY-based Iranian Initiative Against War, Sanctions, and State Repression. Before leaving Iran in 2009, Abdi was active in student and women's rights movements.
