Joris Luyendijk is a writer and journalist based in Amsterdam and London. He served for several years as a correspondent in the Middle East, based in Egypt, Lebanon, and Palestine. He has written for a number of newspapers and news organizations, including the Guardian, where he wrote the “Banking Blog.” Among his books are People Like Us: Misrepresenting the Middle East (Soft Skull Press, 2009) and Swimming With Sharks: My Journey into the World of the Bankers (Faber & Faber, 2015).
