Aimee Shalan is Head of Education at Caabu (the Council for Arab-British Understanding) and Vice-Chair of Friends of Birzeit University. She is also a freelance writer and a regular contributor to the Guardian review. Previously she taught at City University and Queen Mary, University of London. She has a doctorate in the Politics of Palestinian Literature.
