 كانت فكرة حمقاء... استيقظت اليوم بعد نوم عسير قصير وقررت أن رائحة معجون الحلاقة قد تعينني على ما علق في النفس من قبح أخبار المجزرة. حمقاء أقول... ارتعدتُ مما تنطوي عليه العملية من ضرورة مواجهة عار العجز وجهاً لوجه . هناك حيث القلب، دماء وأشلاء في كل الجهات تفيض من شاشة كمبيوتري الصقيلة الأنيقة على ما بقي من احترام الذات. أقف أمام المرآة ولا أرى أحداً. Bio

Ahmad Diab was born in Hama, Syria to two Palestinian refugees, but his family moved to Homs at age eleven. He lived in Homs until 2004, when he came to New York on a Fulbright scholarship to study English literature. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies at NYU.

ولد أحمد دياب في حماة، سوريا، لعائلة فلسطينية لاجئة.  إنتقلت عائلته إلى حمص عندما كان في الحادية عشرة من عمره. عاش حتى عام ٢٠٠٤  في حمص وانتقل إلى نيويورك بعد حصوله على منحة فولبرايت  لدراسة الأدب الإنجليزي. أحمد دياب طالب دكتوراه في قسم دراسات الشرق الأوسط والدراسات الإسلامية في جامعة نيويورك.
