هدى زين كاتبة وأكاديمية سورية ومعارضة سياسية. تخرجت من جامعة دمشق من قسم علم الاجتماع سنة 1994 ثم درست الفلسفة والاستشراق في ألمانيا وبعدها قدمت رسالة الدكتوراة في قسم علم الاجتماع في جامعة فرايبورغ الألمانية 2006 . تدرس حالياً في قسم دراسات الشرق الأوسط في جامعة ماربورغ في ألمانيا.
