Visualizing Palestine (VP) is looking to hire a researcher to join our team full-time in Beirut. VP`s new researcher will, among other things, carry out exploratory research into topics, including gathering published reports and summarising key information; undertake focused research into specific questions, including data aggregation and analysis; and collate, analyse, plot and map data to understand and explain a topic. The candidate is expected to have direct experience in analytical research. Familiarity with data journalism is a plus.

- TASK 1: FOREIGN AID AND SPENDING: Compile a research briefing on foreign aid and public spending in the occupied Palestinian territory. Your briefing should include tabulated data on both the Palestinian Authority (West Bank) and Hamas (Gaza Strip) from reliable local and international sources, and a one-page explanatory summary text, making reference to the most striking data. For data, be sure to provide sources, dates and explanatory notes where necessary.
- TASK 2: ACADEMIC RESTRICTIONS: Compile a research briefing on the restrictions facing academic institutions in the occupied Palestinian territory. Your briefing should include tabulated facts and figures from reliable local and international sources, and a one-page explanatory summary text, making reference to the most striking data.
