The Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DI), an independent institute for learning and research in the fields of Social Sciences, Humanities, and Public Administration, is being established in Doha, Qatar by the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies. The DI is anticipated to launch its first academic year in the Fall semester of 2015.
The DI is currently recruiting distinguished faculty from the Arab world and abroad to develop and lead its programs of learning and research. The DI particularly seeks research-active academics of all professorial ranks in the fields of Philosophy, History, Arabic Language and Linguistics, Comparative Literature, Political Science, Economics and Development, Sociology and Anthropology, Media Studies, Legal Studies, and Public Administration and Policy, with a focus on the Arab world.
Successful candidates are expected to have:
- A PhD degree from a reputable university
- A track record in post-graduate teaching
- Ability to teach in Arabic
- A publications record proportional to the length of teaching experience
- Experience in the supervision of Masters’ theses
The DI offers an internationally competitive salary and benefits, teaching load, and annual research budget. Chosen candidates are expected to start their duties no later than June 2015.
