Ella Shohat is the author or editor of numerous books, including Race in Translation: Culture Wars around the Postcolonial Atlantic (NYU Press, 2012), Taboo Memories, Diasporic Voices (Duke University Press, 2006), Israeli Cinema: East/West and the Politics of Representation (University of Texas Press, 1989), and Talking Visions: Multicultural Feminism in a Transnational Age (MIT & The New Museum of Contemporary Art, 1998), among others. She is a recipient of many fellowships, including: The Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center, 1999; the University of California "Regents Lecturer," U.C. Davis, 1997; the Society for the Humanities at Cornell University (1991-1992), where she also taught at The School of Criticism and Theory (2006). In 2010, she was awarded a Fulbright research/lectureship at the University of São Paulo, Brazil working on the cultural intersections between the Middle East and Latin America.
CSC is presented by the Cultural Studies Program of Geoge Mason University, bringing scholars of diverse metholodogical, theoretical, and topical expertise to share new and cutting-edge interdisciplinary research. We are grateful to University Life for funding that helped make this possible.
