Call for Applicants: Open-Rank Academic Positions in Legal Studies Program (The Doha Institute for Graduate Studies)

The Doha Institute for Graduate Studies (DI), an independent institute for learning and research in the fields of Social Sciences, Humanities, and Public Administration and Development Economics, has been newly established in Doha, Qatar by the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies. Student applications have now opened and the DI is scheduled to launch its first academic year in the Fall semester of 2015.

The School of Social Sciences and Humanities is seeking to strengthen its Master’s Program in Legal Studies by the appointment of academic staff in the following specialisations: Public Law, International Law, Administrative Law, Constitutional Law, and International Business Law.

The positions are open-rank on the academic scale and contracts are normally offered for a period of three years, renewable. Applicants will have a proven research record and teaching experience in their field. Knowledge of Arabic is highly desirable but not a condition. Successful candidates will have the exciting opportunity to participate in building up a new program in a new institution.

Applicants should submit a CV with the names and contact details of three referees and a cover letter in which to highlight the possible scope of their contribution to the delivery of the Program as detailed on the DI website, and to the School at large with its interdisciplinary ethos in both teaching and research. The selection process will remain open until the positions are filled. The successful candidates will be expected to take up the posts as soon as is practically possible but no later than the beginning of September 2015. The DI offers internationally competitive salaries and benefits based on rank and experience and the opportunity of promotion across ranks, subject to performance.
