[The following flier has been circulating in print and on the internet in the lead up to the mass demonstration called for in Tahrir Sqaure on Friday 28 October 2012. It was translated from Arabic into English by Ziad Abu-Rish and Hesham Sallam.]
28 October
Friday of the one demand
We are not going out to demand a minimum wage.
Nor are we going out to chant [slogans] against the army.
Nor are we going out to oppose stability.
Nor are we going out calling for the fall of the Military Council.
We are going out because after nine months we found out that the Military Council and the government of Essam Sharraf will not be able to achieve the goals of the revolution nor will they bring justice to the martyrs and injured
And if we let them stay in power our problems will increase . . . and the country cannot tolerate this situation until the middle of 2013, as was set by the Military Council to hand over power.
We are going out with one demand that to which popular forces have agreed:
Completing the transfer of power to an elected civilian president and parliament such that all decisions concerning specifying that timetable would be announced now . . .
And such that application season for presidential elections candidacy would commence no later than 5 April 2012 and that presidential elections would be held on 5 May 2012.
