This Sea is Mine by Dictaphone Group is an experiment in exploring the concepts of borders and public spaces in the city through Beirut's seafront.
We invite the public to a journey on a fishing boat. Going from the Ayn Mrayseh port to the al-Ramleh al-Bayda beach, we will explore the nature of ownership of the Beirut seafront, the laws that govern it, and the practices of those that utilize these areas.
The goal of this project is to reexamine our understanding of "the public good" and to reimagine the city.
Date: 28 August through 8 September 2012, between 5pm and 7pm.
