The Saudi Ministry of Interior Issued the Following Statement Today:
Based on recent attempts to circumvent rules, regulations, and procedures for illegal purposes, and confirming its December 30, 2008 declaration, the security spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior clarified that Saudi laws and regulations strictly prohibit all kinds of demonstrations, marches, protests, or calling for them, as they contradict with Islamic Shari’a principles and the values and customs of Saudi society. They also breach public order, harm public and private interest, infringe upon other people’s rights, and may lead to chaos, bloodshed, robbery, and put public and private property at risk.
The MOI spokesperson reiterated that the current governing system and prevalent values in our society- which is ruled by the laws of God and the Sunnah of his prophet- guarantee legitimate means of expression and open doors that ensure communication with all those responsible for achieving public interest. As such, security forces are authorized to take all necessary actions against those who attempt to breach the system in any way, whatsoever and to take legal action against them.

بناءً على ما لوحظ من محاولة البعض للالتفاف على الأنظمة والتعليمات والإجراءات ذات العلاقة بها لتحقيق غايات غير مشروعة وتأكيداً لما سبق الإعلان عنه بتاريخ 2/1/1430هـ ، أوضح المتحدث الأمني لوزارة الداخلية أن الأنظمة المعمول بها في المملكة تمنع منعاً باتاً كافة أنواع المظاهرات والمسيرات والاعتصامات والدعوة لها وذلك لتعارضها مع مبادئ الشريعة الإسلامية وقيم وأعراف المجتمع السعودي ولما يترتب عليه من إخلال بالنظام العام وإضرار بالمصالح العامة والخاصة والتعدي على حقوق الآخرين وما ينشأ عن ذلك من إشاعة الفوضى التي تؤدي إلى سفك الدماء وانتهاك الأعراض وسلب الأموال والتعرض للممتلكات العامة والخاصة
وأكد المتحدث الأمني أنه وفي الوقت الذي ضمنت فيه الأنظمة والقيم السائدة في مجتمعنا المحكوم بشرع الله وسنة رسوله وسائل مشروعة للتعبير وأبواباً مفتوحة تكفل التواصل على كافة المستويات في كل ما من شأنه تحقيق الصالح العام فإن قوات الأمن مخولة نظاماً باتخاذ كافة الإجراءات اللازمة بشأن كل من يحاول الإخلال بالنظام بأية صورة كانت وتطبيق الأنظمة بحقه
