Why This Sea is Mine? is a lecture by Dictaphone Group in which they share some of their findings from three of their research and performance projects: Bit Teleferique, Bus Cemetery, and This Sea is Mine.
Dictaphone Group creates live art performances based on findings and stories produced through research on space and oral history. It is a collaborative project initiated by live artists Tania El Khoury and researchers and architect Abir Saksouk. Together, along with performer and producer Petra Serhal, they have been making site specific shows informed by research in places such as cable car, a fisherman`s boat, and a disused bus. The aim of these projects is to re-question, as citizens, our relationship to the space of the city, with a focus on a public space and its redefinition.
