Yasmine Khayyat and Rola Khayyat

Yasmine Khayyat is an assistant professor of Arabic and Comparative Literature at Rutgers University. She is currently completing a book manuscript titled "War Remains: Ruination and Resistance in Lebanon." Her interdisciplinary work explores war at the intersections of literature and cultural memory studies. She has articles published in the Journal of Arabic Literature and the Journal of Middle East Women’s Studies.

Rola Khayyat is an assistant professor of Photography at Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar. She is also a photographer and curator whose work revolves around war and memory. She is currently completing a documentary project on the Lebanese Jewish diaspora called "From Brooklyn to Beirut."
