Lola Khalfa was born in Annaba, Algeria, she studied graphic design and photography at Annaba University and Annaba's Palace of Culture. Her photographic work is often presented as a personal testimony; a narrative relayed through images that attempts to approach complex realities by using imaginary borders and suggestive ideas. Khalfa has participated in residencies in France, Cuba, Pakistan, Germany, Tunisia, and Algeria. She has also exhibited her work in Bamako, Paris, Algiers, and Cologne. She is currently a mentee with the Arab Documentary Photo Program. Follow her on Instagram: @lola_khalfa

Mariam Alarab is a documentary photographer based in Bahrain. She spent her early childhood in Damascus, Syria before moving back to Bahrain in 2001. Through her work, she interrogates contemporary and historical narratives, presenting them in nonlinear, disrupted ways.  Mariam’s areas of focus include the connection between culture, politics, history, and environment. Her practice blends collaborations with people and communities, and immersions in places and landscapes. She was selected as  a 2019 mentee for the Arab Documentary Photography Program, supported by the Prince Claus fund and Magnum foundation.
