Samer Alatout
Samer Alatout is an Associate Professor in the Department of Community and Environmental Sociology and the Graduate Program of Sociology at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. His research is at the intersection of science and technology studies, environmental studies, and social theories of power and justice. His work focuses on the ways water knowledge and infrastructure are deployed in governmental action. Especially important is where water is used to sustain, and/or struggle against, settler colonialism in both Palestine and the US. His articles appeared in top-tier journals including the Annals of the Association of American Geographers, Social Studies of Science, Political Geography, and Environment and Planning D.
