Paraska Tolan-Szkilnik is an Assistant Professor of History at Cornell University. She has written extensively about the Panafrican Festival of Algiers and published pieces in Monde(s), IJMES, World Art, the Arab Studies Journal, amongst others. She is author of Maghreb Noir: The Militant-Artists of North Africa and the Struggle for a Pan-African, Postcolonial Future (Stanford University Press, 2023).
