Jane Ward

Jane Ward is professor and chair of Feminist Studies at University of California Santa Barbara, where teaches and writes about gender and sexual cultures.  She is the author of the award-winning books The Tragedy of Heterosexuality (2020) and Not Gay: Sex Between Straight White Men (2015). Her work has been featured in The New York Times Book Review, NewsweekNew York MagazineForbesThe GuardianBBC, and Washington Post. Her first book, Respectably Queer: Diversity Culture in LGBT Activist Organizations, was named by The Progressive magazine as a best book of 2008 and was featured on NPR.  Jane is also a gardener, a community organizer, and a parent to two chickens, one cat, and one human.
