Nadine Naber and Nicole Nguyen
Nadine Naber is founder of Liberate Your Research and a Professor in the Gender and Women's Studies Program and the Global Asian Studies Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). She is recipient of awards such as the American Studies Association’s 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award, the YWSA’s Y-Women’s Leadership Award, and the Silver Circle Teaching Award. Dr Naber is the author/co-author of five books: Arab America: Gender, Cultural Politics, and Activism (2012); Race and Arab Americans (2008); Arab and Arab American Feminisms (2010); The Color of Violence (2006); and Towards the Sun. She is on the editorial board of the Journal of Palestine Studies and a board member of the Arab American Action Network. She is co-founder of the organization Mamas Activating Movements for Abolition and Solidarity.
Nicole Nguyen is associate professor of criminology, law, and justice at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is author of A Curriculum of Fear: Homeland Security in U.S. Public Schools (2016), Suspect Communities: Anti-Muslim Racism and the Domestic War on Terror (2019), and Terrorism on Trial: Political Violence and Abolitionist Futures (2023). She is a 2022 Soros Justice Fellow.
