Lorenzo Casini is Associate Professor of Arabic Literature at the University of Messina. He is the author of Fuori degli argini (2003), Modernità arabe (2012, co-authored with Maria Elena Paniconi and Lucia Sorbera), and Occidentalism and the Egyptian Novel. Politics, Poetics and Modernity (2024). He is also the co-editor of Minnena (2020, with Daniela Melfa and Paul Starkey) and Migration in the Making of the Gulf Space (2022, with Antia Mato Bouzas).
