Greg Burris is an Assistant Professor of Media Studies at the American University of Beirut. His work is poised at the intersection of film and media theory, race studies, and emancipatory politics, particularly in the context of the US Black freedom movement and the Palestinian liberation struggle. He has also contributed essays to such publications as Bright Lights Film Journal, CineAction, Cinema Journal, Electronic Intifada, Film International, Film Quarterly, The Guardian, Quarterly Review of Film and Video, and the anthologies Futures of Black Radicalism (Verso, 2017) and Global Raciality: Empire, PostColoniality, and DeColoniality (Routledge, 2018).
