Naseer H. Aruri is the Chancellor Professor Emeritus at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. He is the author of Jordan: A Study of Political Developments (The Hague: Nijhoff`s 1972); Enemy of the Sum: Poems of Palestinian Resistance (Washington: Drum and Spear Press, 1970); Editor of Middle East Crucible: Studies on the Arab-Israeli Confrontation of 1973 (Wilmette, Ill: Medina University Press International 1975 and has contributed many chapters for books on the Middle East, and translated other works in Arabic. His latest book is The Obstruction of Peace: The U.S., Israel, and the Palestinians (Common Courage Press, 1995). His book, Occupation: Israel Over Palestine, is in its second edition (1989). The book was selected by CHOICE. He has served on the board of several organizations including Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and currently the Institute for International Criminal Investigations. He is also a founding member of the Arab Organization for Human Rights.
Seif Da’na is an associate professor of sociology and international studies at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. In addition to research in the fields of Social Theory and Sociology of the Environment, he is the author of many articles, book chapters on the Palestine question and the Arab world, including “The Mismeasure of Arabs: Culture and Revolution. Karma Nabulsi is Fellow in Politics at St Edmund Hall and lectures at the University of Oxford. Her research includes 18th century political thought, 19th century republicanism, the laws of war, and the politics of Palestinian refugees, representation, and democracy. She directed the Civitas collective project on mobilisation for Palestinian refugees and exiles, and edited its Register `Palestinians Register: Laying Foundations and Setting Directions`. She currently directs two programmes at Oxford, one on teaching the history of the Palestinian revolution, connecting Oxford university with universities at Nablus, Gaza, and Beirut, and the second on the history of revolutions and republican movements in the 18th and 19th century. www.rwrp.org.uk Karma was formerly Specialist Advisor to the House of Commons Select Committee’s Inquiry on Development Assistance to the Occupied Palestinian Territories 2003-4; Specialist Advisor to the British All-Party Commission of Inquiry on Palestinian Refugees in 1999-2003, and its Report, Right of Return. Before coming to Oxford, she was a PLO representative at the United Nations, in Beirut, Tunis, and a representative to the UK. She is Chair of Trustees and co-founder of HOPING Foundation, which raises awareness of Palestinian refugee youth and sponsors art, music, scholarships and education, sports and associational activities for young Palestinians in refugee camps across the Arab world. She is patron of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign in the UK, and the London Palestine Film Festival.
Sherene Seikaly is Assistant Professor of History at the American University in Cairo and co-Editor of the Arab Studies Journal. She was the Qatar Postdoctoral Fellow at Georgetown University (2007-2008) and Postdoctoral Fellow at the Middle East in Europe Program at the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin (2008-2009).
