Talal Asad was born in Saudi Arabia, spent his boyhood in India and Pakistan, and was educated in Britain. He teaches anthropology at the CUNY Graduate Center and is the author of Genealogies of Religion, Formations of the Secular, and On Suicide Bombing. He has taught in several Middle Eastern universities. He serves on the Editorial Board of Tadween Publishing.
Ayça Çubukçu is Assistant Professor in Human Rights at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Previously, she taught for the Committee on Global Thought at Columbia University and the Committee on Degrees in Social Studies at Harvard University. She is co-editor of the Turkey Page.
