Aslı Ü. Bâli is Assistant Professor of Law at the UCLA School of Law, where she teaches public international law, international human rights, and laws of war. Her research interests also include comparative law of the Middle East. She is co-editor of the Turkey Page.
Aziz Rana is an Associate Professor of Law at Cornell Law School. His book, The Two Faces of American Freedom (Harvard University Press, 2010), reassesses key episodes in US constitutional development, from the Revolution to the New Deal, through the comparative lens of settler colonialism. Rana`s current book project, titled "No Other Gods: The Rise of Constitutional Nationalism in America," explores how the American Federal Constitution became a document of near-universal national veneration in the twentieth century and the implications of such veneration for popular practices of dissent.
