Eric Denis
Eric Denis is an urban geographer at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique, affiliated to the Géographie-cités lab in Paris. His research examines urban dynamics and land issues in the context of rapidly growing cities in the Middle East and in Asia. He was based in Cairo from 1993 to 2002, and was in charge of the Contemporary Cairo Monitoring Centre at the CEDEJ. He then relocated to India (at the Institut Français de Pondichéry) from 2009 to 2013. He was the editor of Urbanisation des provinces égyptiennes (2007, Karthala). Currently, he leads a collaborative study on small towns and subaltern urbanisation in India (SUBURBIN).
