I have been interested in ethnographies of labor since I became an anthropologist, and having decided to do my doctoral fieldwork in Israel, I settled on agriculture as the economic sector that is perhaps most closely implicated in the Zionist project.
Matan Kaminer
Matan Kaminer is an anthropologist, a political activist, and a lecturer at the School of Business and Management, Queen Mary University London. He has published widely in journals such as American Ethnologist and the International Journal of Middle East Studies. His first monograph, Capitalist Colonial: Thai Migrant Workers in Israeli Agriculture, was published by Stanford University Press in 2024.
