Thank you for your interest in Jadaliyya. We welcome all submissions. The most significant requirement is for Jadaliyya submissions to be analytically compelling and offer a perspective or argument that has not been covered at length either on Jadaliyya or elsewhere. Because of the volume of submissions, well-written pieces are prioritized. Length is flexible, 1000 to 2500 words is the average range. However, we will accept longer pieces. Once submitted, several members of the editorial committee will review your piece and one of them will inform you of the decision.

Scott L. Morgensen is Associate Professor in the Gender Studies Department at Queen’s University. His primary research examines how racism and settler colonialism shape queer / trans politics in the United States and Canada. His writing addresses more broadly the comparative study of settler colonialism and of alliances for decolonization in settler states. He is the author of Spaces between Us: Queer Settler Colonialism and Indigenous Decolonization (University of Minnesota Press, 2011) and the co-editor of Queer Indigenous Studies: Critical Interventions in Theory, Politics, and Literature (University of Arizona Press, 2011) and of “Karangatia: Calling Out Gender and Sexuality in Settler Societies,” special issue of Settler Colonial Studies 2:2. His essays appear in American Quarterly, American Indian Culture and Research Journal, Gender, Place and Culture, GLQ, New Proposals, Settler Colonial Studies, Women and Performance, Women’s Studies, and Unsettling Ourselves, the sourcebook of the Unsettling Minnesota Collective.
