Maysa Sabah Shocair

Maysa Sabah Shocair has extensive housing experience in the MENA region. She began her career at Dar Al Handasah Shair and Partners, where she worked on the master plan for the redevelopment of Beirut`s south- western suburb, an area which includes large informal settlements. She also worked with the Arab Monetary Fund (AMF). For the past three years, she has been working with AHI on consulting assignments with various GCC based public and private sector clients to improve the delivery of housing.  Before returning to the Middle East, Maysa worked for some of the US`s leading affordable housing developers and lenders, among them New York Citys` Phipps Houses Group and Boston`s Fenway. Through intense collaboration with local community organizers, she identified strategies to preserve over one thousand affordable apartments that were at risk of being converted to market.

Maysa has a Bachelor in Architecture from from the American University of Beirut, a Master degree in City Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MPhil Degree in Real Estate Finance from the University of Cambridge.
