Kabir Tambar

 

Kabir Tambar is an assistant professor of anthropology at Stanford University. His research focuses on the politics of history, the affective forms of public criticism, and varieties of Islamic practice in Turkey. He is the author of The Reckoning of Pluralism: Political Belonging and the Demands of History in Turkey (Stanford, 2014), and his articles have appeared in History of the Present, American Ethnologist, Public Culture, and Comparative Studies in Society and History.
