Loren D. Lybarger is an associate professor in the Department of Classics and World Religions at Ohio University. He teaches courses in Islamic Studies (Islam; Sufism; Political Islam); theories and method in the study of religion; and religion and violence. He is the author of multiple peer-reviewed articles as well as Identity and Religion in Palestine: The Struggle between Islamism and Secularism in the Occupied Territories (Princeton University Press, 2007) and Palestinian Chicago: Identity in Exile (University of California Press, 2020).
