Sinem Adar is a sociologist and an IPC-Mercator Fellow at the Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik. Her research interests include nation-building and nationalism; belonging, citizenship and identity; and religion in Turkey and Egypt.
Gülay Türkmen is a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Goettingen’s Forum for Interdisciplinary Religious Studies. She received her PhD in sociology from Yale University in 2016. Her work has appeared in Nations and Nationalism and the Annual Review of Sociology, as well as on openDemocracy, The European, Policy Trajectories, and the LSE Review of Books.
