Janine A. Clark is a professor of political science at the University of Guelph, in Ontario, Canada. She has conducted field research in Egypt, Yemen, Jordan, Morocco, Lebanon, and Tunisia and has published extensively on Islamism, civil society, and women and politics. She most recently published Local Politics in Jordan and Morocco: Strategies of Centralization and Decentralization (Columbia UP, 2018).
Francesco Cavatorta is professor of political science at Laval University in Quebec, Canada. He is also the director of the Chair of Maghreb Studies at the Institute for International Studies and a fellow at the CIRAM (Centre Interdisciplinaire de Recherche sur l’Afrique et le Moyen Orient), both based at Laval University. He is currently visiting professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Toronto. He most recently co-edited (with Lise Storm) the volume Political Parties in the Arab world (Edinburgh University Press, 2018).
