Wilson Chacko Jacob and the Middle East Studies Pedagogy Initiative (MESPI)

Wilson Chacko Jacob is an Associate Professor of History at Concordia University in Montreal, where he has been since 2006. He completed his PhD in 2005 in the Departments of History and Middle East and Islamic Studies at New York University. His intellectual and scholarly preoccupations these days are with concepts of sovereignty that extend from the subject to the state, from political theology and mysticism to governmentality.

MESPI is a curated interactive platform for ME studies resources specifically tailored for the needs of teachers, researchers, and students. It will be the one-stop shop for course design on the macro level, lesson planning on the micro level, and for scholarship vis-a-vis specific topics, countries, and disciplines.
