A group of thugs destroyed the windows of a car owned by a judge observing the elections in the Cairo district of Dar El-Salam.
The thugs also stole documents related to Monday’s parliamentary election run-off.
This is the first attack by thugs in the first post-Mubarak parliamentary elections which kicked off on November 28. During the Mubarak era, many candidates, both from the ousted president’s National Democratic Party as well as opposition parties used to hire thugs to terrorise and deter voters in front of polling stations.
