April 6 Youth Movement loses a member in government attacks on the Cabinet sit-in Friday.
The April 6 Youth Movement declared on Saturday that one of its members, Ahmed Mansour, was shot dead as the military was dispersing sit-in protesting in front of Cabinet headquarters.
Mansour`s funeral will be held in El-Hasry Mosque in 6 October city following afternoon prayers.
Eight protesters have been killed, according to the numbers released by the ministry of health and 300 injured in attacks by security forces against protesters who had been occupying Cabinet headquarters in downtown Cairo.
The influential April 6 Movement released a statement on Friday warning Egypt`s ruling military council and Kamal El-Ganzouri`s ministry. The movement demanded that the violence against protesters stop immediately.
Any escalation in violence, the movement says, will be blamed squarely on the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces and the recently appointed government.
The newly-elected parliament members, they argue, should play their role in protecting demonstrators. Furthermore, they urged that military personnel defy any orders to attack peaceful protestors.
The movement pointed out that it has become obvious that violent attacks against protesters only results in a more persistent resistance, adding it will come to light who ordered and carried out the violence and will be held accountable.
