Revolution Youth Coalition calls for campaign to combat `lies` expected to be aired over recent Tahrir violence at Monday`s SCAF press conference.
As the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) is calling for a press conference on Monday at 12pm, the Revolution Youth Coalition is urging journalists to take pictures of the killing of protestors conducted by the military over the past two days.
The press conference at the State Information Service Centre is supposed to include an explanation by the SCAF as to what led to the recent escalation of violence that has left at least two dead and hundreds injured.
SCAF representatives are expected to show footage explaining who is behind the violence. Some reporters have decided to boycott the press conference in the expectation that the SCAF would blame demonstrators for the violence.
Activists were outraged by the SCAF press conference that followed a military attack on a Coptic march at Maspero in October that left at least 28 dead. At the press conference military council representatives blamed protesters for the violence claiming they stole army weapons and tanks. Activist Alaa Abd El-Fattah is still detained facing charges for the Maspero violence.
