Freedom and Justice Party wins highest number of votes in party list and individual candidacy seats, Nour Party finishes second in party list vote, while Wafd Party and Revolution Continues Alliance finish third.
The Daqahliyah Elections General Committee has announced the governorate’s parliamentary election results, covering three districts for the party lists and six districts for the individual candidacy seats.
In the first district of the electoral party lists, the Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) won the highest number of votes (155546), followed by the Salafist Al-Nour Party (101595), the Revolution Continues Alliance (85266), the liberal Al-Wafd Party (39977), the Egyptian National Party (16668), the Egyptian Bloc (8417), the Nasserist Party (5760), the moderate Islamist Wasat Party (5503), the Unity Party (5482), the Freedom Party (2501), the Modern Egypt Party (3898), the New Independents Party (972) and the Reform Party (2917).
In the second district for the electoral party lists, the FJP won the highest number of votes (237431), followed by the Nour Party (169864), the Wafd Party (73420) and the Revolution Continues (54308).
In the third district of the electoral party lists, the FJP again won the highest number of votes (253822), followed by the Nour Party (221525), the Wafd Party (68521), the Revolution Continues Alliance (73222), the Egyptian Bloc (21082), the Egyptian Citizen Party (20059), the New Independents Party (23466), the Reform and Development Party (9531), the Wasat Party (19630) and the Adl Party (2047).
As for the individual candidacy seats, in the first district the FJP’s Yousry Hany won the highest number of votes (244216) for the professionals’ seat, while the FJP’s Tarek Qutb, won the most votes (155683) for the workers’ seat.
In the second district, the runoff will be between the Salafist Nour Party’s Ali Qatamesh (80490) and the FJP’s Hassan Gomaa (65707) for the professionals’ seat. As for the workers’ seat the runoff will be between the FJP’s Saad El-Halougy (85461) and the Nour Party’s Mohamed Ismail (59221).
The third district will also witness a runoff between the FJP’s Emad Shams (90152) and the Al-Adl Party candidate Ahmed Ismail Shoukry (52314) for the professionals’ seat. As for the workers’ seat, the runoff will be between the FJP’s Abd El-Hamid Eissa (79000) and the Nour Party member (52156).
In the fourth district the runoff for the professionals’ seat will be between FJP’s Ibrahim Ouf (149695) and independent candidate El-Doudi Mohamed Mohamed Mehleb (34087). As for the workers’ seats the runoff will be between the independent candidate and farmer Mahmoud Nabih Hassanein (50829) and Khaled Mostafa Kamel Abd El-Salam Mousa (46522).
In the fifth district the runoff will be between the independent candidate Mortada Mansour (95000) and the FJP’s Khaled El-Dib (123000) for the professionals’ seat. For the workers’ seat the runoff will be between the Islamist Amal (Labour) Party’s candidate (backed by the Muslim Brotherhood) El-Sayed Mansour (107000) and the independent candidate Tarek El-Ghafir (95000).
In the sixth district there are three candidates who will be joining the runoff for the workers’ seat and one for the professionals seat, these include independent farmer Mohamed Abd El-Aty Metwally (52686), the FJP’s El-Sayed Mohamed El-Adawy Niazy (49815), the FJP’s workers’ candidate Ramadan Mohamed El-Imam (49815) and the Nour Party’s farmers’ candidate Abd El-Qader Ibrahim Abd El-Rahman (44582).
