The Palestine Media Agency (Agence Média Palestine - www.agencemediapalestine.fr ) aims at becoming a competent structure working on media and communication, in support of the solidarity movements with Palestine. It was created after the attack on the Gaza Strip in 2009.
In France, pro-Israeli groups regularly try to censor all criticism of Israeli policy. As an exemple, for instance, they launched numerous attacks against Charles Enderlin, a journalist from France 2 TV channel, because of his accurate reporting of the Mohamed al-Dura case. They are also suing activists from the Boycott-Divestment-Sanctions Campaign in several cities around France, all of them French citizens acting non-violently against Israeli impunity. In the beginning of June 2013, they led a fierce campaign against Ahlam Chibli, an internationally known Palestinian photographer, whose work was exhibited at the musuem “Jeu de paume.”
AMP has succeeded in placing many interjections into the mainstream French newspapers. It has also succeeded in covering what the traditional press do not usually do in France, and thus present the Palestinian situation and struggle as it should be presented.
