Interview by Hany Rashed
Mohamed Kandeel (aka Andeel) was long known as the youngest political cartoonist in Egypt, working with a range of newspapers, from Al Dostour and Al Masry Al Youm to Egypt Independent and Mada Masr. Yet he has also been working on a number of other creative projects, specifically with a humorous twist, over the years—the most recent being Bassem Youssef`s "Albernameg." Andeel was among the co-founders of the quarterly comics magazine Tok Tok, and is the mastermind behind the online show, "My Beloved Kafr El Sheikh`s Radio."
Egyptian visual artist Hany Rashed paid Andeel a visit in late 2013, and together they discussed Andeel`s creative outpour and the development of online creative expression over the past three years.
