Program + Communications Coordinator at Mizna
Mizna's Twin Cities Arab Film Festival (TCAFF) is seeking films for the upcoming festival scheduled for 26-29 September 2019. We are accepting narrative, documentary, experimental, and animated films, both features and shorts. We seek films made by Arab or Arab American filmmakers or films relevant to these communities.
The Arab Film Fest is produced by Mizna, a St. Paul-based arts organization committed to bringing the best Arab cinema, literature, and art to Twin Cities audiences. Beginning in 2003, Mizna’s festival has screened numerous Arab and Arab American titles and hosted many acclaimed filmmakers to present their work and engage with our local communities. The Arab Film Fest will celebrate its 14th festival this fall.
The Arab Film Fest aims to exhibit films made by and about Arabs and also about non-Arabs living in the Arab world. With few exceptions, the festival screens Minnesota theatrical premieres and is presented in collaboration with various Twin Cities organizations, like the Film Society of Minneapolis/St. Paul. Please visit past festival websites (http://miznablog.org/arabfilmfest18/) for more information about the TCAFF.
The 2019 Arab Film Fest will take place at St. Anthony Main Theater in Minneapolis, MN from 26-29 September 2019.

Mizna is a Twin Cities non-profit arts organization that promotes Arab American artistic expression. We produce the annual Twin Cities Arab Film Festival and publish an award-winning literary journal Mizna: Prose, Poetry, and Art Exploring Arab America, which features both local and international artists. Additionally, Mizna stays active in the community by hosting book readings, Arabic classes, and art projects. Through art, we strive to highlight the multifaceted experiences of Arab Americans. This year marks twenty years of publishing the Mizna journal, and we are honoring that with a major visual art exhibition, History is Not Here: Art and the Arab Imaginary, which will open on 12 September.
