Feminist Conversation on Current Uprisings in the Middle East

This will be an informal, lightly moderated, and open conversation on the ongoing political uprisings and protest movements in the Middle East, including but not limited to Iraq, Lebanon, Sudan, Algeria, and Egypt. How can we learn from each other’s experiences over the years? How is feminist analysis, praxis, and organizing being mobilized across the region? How might a feminist framework allow us to both analyze better and be in solidarity with protestors on the ground? How can feminist academics and activists at MESA support, follow, and work alongside our colleagues in the Middle East who are not at MESA this year?
Most of all, we hope to be able to share, learn, think, and dwell together at this critical time. All are welcome!
