رفضًا لإزالة البسطات، إضراب سريع وناجح في أسواق وسط عمان، حبر (3 ديسمبر 2020)

في الأردن، وبالتحديد في أسواق وسط العاصمة عمان، قامت دوريات أمانة عمان الكبرى بإخبار التجار بأن عليهم إخلاء الشوارع ومداخل المحلات من البسطات وفروش البضاعة، وأنذرتهم بأنها ستصادر بضاعتهم إن لم يستجيبوا لأوامرها. استجاب التجار وأدخلوا بضائعهم، ولكنهم بعد ذلك قاموا بالاحتجاج بإغلاق أبواب متاجرهم والجلوس أمامها، وقام بعضهم بتعليق أوراقًا على أبوابهم كتب عليها "للبيع". ردًّا على ذلك، ذهب مسؤولون من الأمن العام وأمانة عمان الكبرى إلى هذه الأسواق وتناقشوا مع التجار، ثم توصلوا إلى حل، حيث سمح لأصحاب المحلات بعرض بضائعهم خارج محلاتهم، ولكن لم يسمح لأصحاب البسطات الفردية بعرض بضائعهم في الشارع.

شهدت بلدية آلمانصا بمقاطعة كاصتيا لامانتشا في إسبانيا مظاهرات احتجاجية للتنديد بهجوم القوات المغربية على المدنيين بثغرة الكركرات في الصحراء الغربية، وللمطالبة بتحرير الصحراء الغربية من الاحتلال المغربي. وشارك في هذه الاحتجاجات مقيمين من الجالية الصحراوية بالإضافة إلى المتضامنين معهم ومع قضيتهم.

مسيرة بالسيارات لطلاب كلية الطب، الأخبار (7 ديسمبر 2020)

خرج طلاب كلية الطب بجامعة نواكشوط في موريتانيا في مسيرات احتجاجية بالسيارات. هتفوا فيها ضد إدارة الجامعة وأكدوا استمرارهم في الإضراب حتى تتحقق مطالبهم.

أبناء سقطرى يخرجون بصلابة في وجه الإمارات، المشهد اليمني (7 ديسمبر 2020)

قام سكان محافظة سقطرى في اليمن بالتظاهر أمام محطة أدنوك للوقود، حيث قطعوا الطريق المؤدي إليها ومنعوا السيارات الإماراتية من الدخول للمحطة، وذلك احتجاجا على افتعال قوات الانتقالي الجنوبي (المدعوم من الإمارات) أزمة في المشتقات النفطية، رغم أن المحطة لا تزال مليئة بالوقود.

نقابة معلمي ليبيا تعلن عن إضراب جديد، العربي الجديد (8 ديسمبر 2020)

دعت تنسيقيات المعلمين في ليبيا لإعلان إضراب عام في جميع المؤسسات التعليمية واستجابت لها النقابة العامة للمعلمين حيث أكدت على الإضراب حتى الاستجابة لمطالب المعلمين وصرف رواتب المعلمين والعمل بموجب قانون رقم (4) من أجل إنجاح العملية التعليمية في البلاد.

33 عاما على انتفاضة الحجارة الفلسطينية، القدس العربي (8 ديسمبر 2020)

يشكل التاسع من ديسمبر الذكرى الثالثة والثلاثين لاندلاع الانتفاضة الأولى في فلسطين التي بدأت عام 1987 واستمرت حتى عام 1994. ويتذكر الفلسطينيون الذين كانوا جزءا من هذه الانتفاضة تجاربهم بما فيها تعرضهم للجرائم الإسرائيلية ومشاركتهم في مقاومة الاحتلال خلال الانتفاضة.

إضراب شامل في الجولان المحتل، عمون (9 ديسمبر 2020)

أعلن أهالي الجولان المحتل قيامهم بإضراب عام احتجاجا على الاحتلال الإسرائيلي الذي نصب طوربينات على أراضي المزارعين ومنعهم من التوجه لأراضيهم. وانتشر الأهالي في البساتين للتعبير عن احتجاجهم، فقامت شرطة الاحتلال بإطلاق الغاز المسيل للدموع والرصاص المطاطي عليهم.

حراك في ريف دير الزور ضد "العمال": هل تتنازل "قسد"؟، العربي الجديد (11 ديسمبر 2020)

تشهد ريف الزور مظاهرات في المناطق الواقعة تحت سيطرة قوات سورية الديمقراطية (قسد)، وذلك احتجاجا على تردي الحالة المعيشية فيها رغم وجود حقول النفط والغاز فيها. كما احتجوا على وجود حزب العمل الكوردستاني في منطقتهم وطالبوا بإقالة الفاسدين ومحاسبتهم ودعم القطاع الخدماتي والصحي.

تونس: إضراب عام في جندوبة وجنازة رمزية لوعود التنمية، العربي الجديد (11 ديسمبر 2020)

احتجاجًا على تباطؤ الدولة في تنفيذ قرارات عقدت في 2015 و2019، أعلن أهالي محافظة جندوبة عن قيامهم بإضراب عام يقوده الاتحاد الجهوي للشغل ومنظمات مدنية، مما أدى إلى توقف كل الخدمات الإدارية والنشاطات التجارية في المدينة. وطالب الأهالي برحيل المحافظ ومحاسبة المسؤولين، كما رفعوا شعارات عديدة منها "جندوبة تستحق ما هو أحسن" و"جندوبة تريد الحق في الحياة".

اليمنيون يتظاهرون ضد جميع أطراف الحرب،القدس العربي (12 ديسمبر 2020)

خرج اليمنيون في محافظات تعز وحضرموت ومناطق أخرى ضد جميع أطراف الحرب في اليمن من الحوثيين والتحالف العربي بقيادة السعودية والإمارات بالإضافة للحكومة الشرعية، وذلك احتجاجا على تدهور الوضع الاقتصادي والمعيشي في مختلف مناطق اليمن وانهيار سعر العملة المحلية بالإضافة إلى السياسات الفاشلة التي تقود البلد إلى مجاعة محققة.

احتجاجات كردستان العراق… جمر تحت الرماد، القدس العربي (13 ديسمبر 2020)

شهدت محافظة السليمانية في كوردستان العراق في 8 ديسمبر عدة مظاهرات واحتجاجات تطالب بتحسين الحالة الاقتصادية والسياسية، حيث أشعلها التلكؤ في صرف رواتب موظفي الحكومة الذين لم يستلموا سوى أربعة رواتب خلال عام 2020 كله مما أدى إلى تدني الحالة المعيشية في السليمانية. وقامت قوات الأمن الكوردية وقوات مكافحة الشغب بقمع هذه المظاهرات باستخدام العنف المفرط مما أدى إلى مقتل 10 ضحايا وجرح العشرات من المتظاهرين.

مصر: استمرار اعتصام عمال "الدلتا للأسمدة" وأسرهم لليوم الرابع عشر، العربي الجديد (16 ديسمبر 2020)

منذ الثالث من ديسمبر بدأ اعتصام عمال شركة الدلتا للأسمدة بطلخا في محافظة الدقهلية بدلتا مصر، وذلك اعتراضًا على بيع أراضي الشركة مما سيؤدي إلى تشريد عمالها. وقد اعتصم العمال داخل المصنع مرددين هتافات منها "بالروح بالدم، حقنا مش هيروح" و"أرض المصنع مش للبيع"، كما انضم أسر العمال لهم مؤكدين على مواصلة الاعتصام حتى تحقيق مطالبهم وحصولهم على قرار كتابي ينص على استمرار الشركة وعدم بيعها وبالتالي عدم تشريدهم.

العراق: احتجاجات حاشدة في الناصرية تطالب بمحاسبة قتلة الناشطين، العربي الجديد (18 ديسمبر 2020)

خرجت أعداد كبيرة من أهالي محافظة ذي قار في مدينة الناصرية في العراق في مظاهرات احتجاجًا على قمع المتظاهرين واغتيال الناشطين، حيث حمل المتظاهرون اللافتات ورددوا الشعارات المطالبة بإطلاق سراح المعتقلين السياسيين كما حملوا صورًا للناشطين المغدورين. وقامت القوات الأمنية بالتواجد في ساحات التظاهر وأحاطت المكان بمدرعات وسيارات رباعية الدفع.

عامان على الثورة السودانية: مواكب "19 ديسمبر" لتحقيق العدالة والمحاسبة، العربي الجديد (19 ديسمبر 2020)

يحيي السودانيون الذكرى الثانية لاندلاع الثورة في 19 ديسمبر والتي أطاحت بنظام البشير وذلك بعودتهم إلى الشارع من أجل استرداد الثورة وتصحيح مسارها من أجل ضمان العدالة ومحاسبة المجرمين المسؤولين عن الجرائم التي تم ارتكابها في عهد البشير وخلال الثورة.

خرج أهالي البصرة في العراق ممن يعملون في مؤسسات حكومية في مظاهرات احتجاجًا على تأخر صرف رواتبهم لعدة أشهر. وقد قام المتظاهرون بإغلاق الطرق الرئيسية والطرق المؤدية إلى شركة مصافي نفط الجنوب وميناء أم قصر.

تونس: احتجاجات في القصرين وتوزر ودعوات إلى التهدئة، العربي الجديد (20 ديسمبر 2020)

قام عدد من شباب منطقة القصرين في تونس بمحاولة الاعتداء على مركز أمني، أما منطقة توزر فقد شهدت احتجاجات على تملص السلطات المحلية من وعودها وللمطالبة بتوفير الأراضي السكنية للمواطنين، كما شهدت منطقة توزر مواجهات بين المتظاهرين ورجال الأمن ومحاولات المتظاهرين لإغلاق الطرقات وإحراق العجلات المطاطية.

انفراج أزمة اعتصام عمال مغاربة في جوف الأرض، بوابة إفريقيا الإخبارية (20 ديسمبر 2020)

في المغرب، اعتصم عمال شركة "لتويست" بمنجم جبل عوام بمريرت في جوف الأرض لمدة 10 أيام، واستجاب المدير العام للمنجم لمطالب العمال حيث التقى مع الأمين العام للاتحاد المغربي واتفقوا على عقد لقاء تفاوضي للاستجابة لمطالب العمال بزيادة الأجور والتعويضات وغيرها.

اعتصام أمام مكتب الاونروا في صيدا احتجاجا على تقليص الخدمات، لبنان 24 (22 ديسمبر 2020)

في مخيمات منطقة صيدا في لبنان، قامت قيادة العمل الفلسطيني المشترك واللجان الشعبية بتنظيم اعتصام أمام مكتب الأونروا، وذلك احتجاجا على تقليص الخدمات والتقديمات. ونادى المعتصمون بالمحافظة على الأونروا وتمكينها لتساعد اللاجئين الفلسطينيين في لبنان وتوفر لهم كل ما يحتاجونه من متطلبات الحياة.

انتقادات لرفض محكمة سعودية دعوى تعرض “لجين الهذلول” لتعذيب وتحرش- (تغريدات)، القدس العربي (22 ديسمبر 2020)

رفضت المحكمة قبول دعوى قامت بها أسرة لجين الهذلول بشأن تعرضها للتعذيب والتحرش خلال فترة سجنها. وتبع ذلك انتقادات للحكم على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي من قبل أسرتها والنشطاء السعوديين المتضامنين معهم عبر هاشتاغ #لجين_لاتكذب.

غضب كويتي بعد أول محاولة انتحار شاب من البدون في "العهد الجديد"، الحرة (28 ديسمبر 2020)

قام شاب بدون (عديم الجنسية) عمره 27 سنة في منطقة الصليبية في الكويت بمحاولة الانتحار وذلك بإشعال النار في نفسه. وكانت هناك ردة فعل غاضبة من قبل الكويتيين على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي حيث انتشر هاشتاغ #انتحار_بدون_بالصليبية تعبيرا عن غضبهم من تعامل الحكومة مع قضية البدون.

طلاب لبنان يتظاهرون بوجه "دولرة" الأقساط: الشارع لنا والتعليم حقنا، العربي الجديد (29 ديسمبر 2020)

خرج طلاب وطالبات جامعات لبنان في مظاهرات احتجاجا على احتساب مصروفاتهم الدراسية بالدولار وذلك لمدة عشرة أيام، واجهتهم فيها القوات الأمنية بالقمع والعنف المفرط، فعاد المحتجّون في تظاهرة جديدة لاسترجاع الشارع ومقاومة عنف رجال الأمن الذي تعرضوا له ولا زالوا يتعرضون له في المظاهرات.

Members of the Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights (EIPR) were arrested in November, days after meeting 13 diplomats and discussing the situation of human rights in Egypt. In response to their arrest, people showed support for them on social media and demanded their release.

Many people in Lebanon who have had disabilities as a result of the Beirut Port Explosion that happened on 4th of August 2020. They participated in a sit-in in Basta Al-Tahta neighborhood to demand for their human rights to be respected and protected.

Dozens of Israelis arrested at anti-Netanyahu protest, Al-Jazeera (6 December 2020)
Protesters in Israel have been gathering weekly for the past six months, saying Netanyahu should step down because of his going on trial for corruption and the mismanagement of the country’s coronavirus crisis. The protests began with a coalition forming an emergency government last spring, which has now fallen into pieces, leading to yet another Israeli election.

Iraq: Kurdish security forces kill six protesters, Middle East Eye (8 December 2020)
The once peaceful anti-government demonstrations demanding jobs opportunities, public salaries, the resignation of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and the holding of snap parliamentary elections have descended into violence, leaving headquarters of all political parties and police stations on fire. The KRG responded harshly, killing at least six demonstrators and shutting down an opposition media channel as well as internet across Iraq's Kurdish region.

Striking Tunisia Medics Protest Following Doctor’s Death, Asharq Al-Awsat (8 December 2020)
Tunisian healthcare workers protested after the death of Badreddine Aloui, a 27-year-old doctor, when he fell down an elevator shaft. The healthcare workers demanded the resignation of the health minister and expressed their anger towards the government’s neglect of the public healthcare system.

Syria: protest in occupied Golan against Israel's turbine project,  Middle East Monitor (9 December 2020)
Syrians in the Israeli occupied Golan Heights haven taken part in a general strike in protest against Israel's plans to install wind turbines on their agricultural land. The day of protest follows a meeting called by religious and social authorities among the largely Druze community. The­­­ Israeli energy firm Energix Renewable Energy was accused of exploiting the pandemic and suing a human rights organization in the Golan. Clashes broke out between the Syrian protestors and the Israeli police, leading to injuries and arrests.

Kuwait’s stateless Bidoon population angered by another death, Global Voices (11 December 2020)

A 32-year-old bidoon (stateless) man in Kuwait committed suicide after getting arrested by the police. In response, many in Kuwait voiced their support and solidarity on social media using the hashtag #انتحار_بدون or #Suicide_of_a_Bidoon. They also demanded the government to put an end to the plight of this community.

Saudi deported Indians for protesting against Narendra Modi’s anti-Muslim register, Middle East Monitor (11 December 2020)

Indian migrants, who were living in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, protested against the National Register of Citizens (NRC) that was introduced by the Indian government. In response, Saudi Arabian authorities arrested and deported them.

Hundreds protest against Yemeni internationally-recognized government in Taiz as Houthi shelling kills two, The New Arab (12 December 2020)

Yemenis in Taiz protested against the government of President Abed Tabbo Mansour Hadi after shelling by Houthis killed a football club captain and his son. The protesters said that the government, Saudi Arabia, and UAE are all responsible for making Yemen at risk of going through a famine.

Moroccan authorities prevent protest against ties with Israel in Rabat, Middle East Eye (15 December 2020)
Moroccan authorities banned a protest in the capital Rabat against the kingdom's move to normalize ties with Israel for US recognition of Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara. A heavy police presence backed by water cannons and anti-riot forces prevented pro-Palestinian rights organizations from reaching the square. 

Sudan marchers demand justice on protest movement anniversary, Middle East Eye (19 December 2020)
At the second anniversary of the protest movement, thousands of Sudanese marched through Khartoum among other towns and cities demanding justice for the people killed during the two years of protests. Adding to the sense of injustice, protesters are angry at the military and civilian leaders of the transitional government because of their failure to create a long-delayed parliament and improve economic conditions.

Tunisia: At 10th anniversary of Sidi Bouzid uprising, protests erupted and no celebrations, Middle East Monitor (19 December 2020)

This year, Tunisia marks its 10th anniversary of its 2010 uprising that started what later came to be known as the Arab Spring. In the first few years following the revolution, people celebrated its anniversary; however, these celebrations stopped in later years due to the unsatisfactory socioeconomic conditions in the country.

The American University of Beirut (AUB) and the Lebanon American University (LAU) decided to base their tuition fees on exchange rate of 3900 Lebanese pounds to the dollar, leading to tuition fee hikes. In response, students organized a “day of rage” near AUB, demanding affordable education. They were faced by riot police and tear gas.

In Basra, Iraq, protesters blocked main roads leading to the South Oil Refineries Company and the port of Umm Qasr. They demanded the government to pay their salaries that they had not received for months.

Algeria: Covid-19 suspends Hirak in the streets, social networks take over, The North Africa Post (22 December 2020)

In Algeria, Covid-19 led people to suspend the demonstrations that started on 22nd February 2019. However, their struggle for freedom and justice still continues in other forms. For example, Algerians are organizing themselves according to their profession in and outside. In addition to that, Algerians in the diaspora are active as they build connections and organize among themselves all over the world. Protests moved from the streets to the virtual world, particularly on social media as Algerians continue to challenge the status quo and work towards a better present and future for themselves.

What were the top BDS victories of 2020?, The Electronic Intifada (30 December 2020)
Despite the pandemic, 2020 was a successful year for BDS. These victories took a variety of forms, as some of them were in the form of direct actions and calls to boycott and divest, while others took place in courts and were legal victories, as well as calls to sanction Israel for its war crimes and violations of International law.

بسبب التحايل عليه بشكل ممنهج فإن مفهوم التضامن بات اليوم مفهومًا مفرغًا من هدفه، وساهم على ذلك التغييرات السياسية التي حدثت في فلسطين ومنها تراجع الثورة الفلسطينية الحديثة منذ ثمانينات القرن الماضي وحتى اليوم. فاليوم صار التضامن في شكله المستحدث "تعاطفًا" في العديد من الأحيان، ولم يعد كما كان "التصاقًا وانخراطًا وإسنادًا وثأرًا."

Often, when discussing the hardships faced by people in the region, whether it is the Beirut explosion, the Israeli occupation, war, or poverty, media outlets focus on people’s resilience. They romanticize how people endure and survive despite all their struggles. As a result, they focus on the individual, minimizing their trauma and obscuring the fact their resilience is a necessary skill of survival amidst systematic and structural oppression.

We have had a century's worth of events, with some good days that were replaced by the bitter days that we are still living through – and the struggle continues.

قامت مجموعة من المنصات الإعلامية الفلسطينية بإطلاق مشروع لإعادة إحياء أغاني الثورات والانتفاضات الفلسطينية القديمة ومنها ثورة الثلاثينيات أثناء الاستعمار البريطاني، والانتفاضة الأولى في الثمانينيات من القرن الماضي، والانتفاضة الثانية في بداية الألفية.

يرسم هذا الفنان عيونًا في فنه تعبر عن العيون التي فقدها العديد من المتظاهرات\ين في لبنان نتيجة لقمع القوات الأمنية للمظاهرات واستخدامهم للعنف المفرط، كما أن العديد من الناس حول العالم استخدموا هاشتاغ "تورتنا عيونكم" للتعبير عن تضامنهم مع المتظاهرات\ين في لبنان.

بعد انتفاضة 17 تشرين برزت في لبنان مبادرات مختلفة تعبر عن أفكار الشباب حول السياسة والمجتمع والثقافة في لبنان، وهي تتبنى أفكار ومبادئ مختلفة ولكنها تشترك في أنها تحاول أن تكون نقدية للوضع القائم وبديلة للإعلام السائد. منها ما اتخذ شكل المنشورات مثل "جريدة 17 تشرين" و"الخندق" و"رحلة"، ومنها ما اتخذ من وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي منصة لعمله مثل "بروباغندا".

شارك الكثير في انتفاضة 17 تشرين في لبنان عبر الإنتاج الثقافي في أشكال مختلفة وذلك عبر الهتافات والشعارات في المظاهرات، ومن خلال الإنتاج الموسيقي كالأغاني التي أنتجها الراس (مازن السيد) وبو ناصر الطفار وغيرهم، بالإضافة إلى الإنتاج المرئي والبصري الذي تمثل في اللافتات واللباس والمجسمات والجرافيتي والرسوم الكاريكتورية، كما جرت في ساحات الانتفاضة عروض سينمائية لأفلام نقدية.

The Pavements Don't Speak: Silencing Street Theatre in Egypt, Arab Reform Initiative (9 December 2020)

Street theatre in Egypt dates back to the late 1990s and early 2000s when a group of artists wanted to work in theatre outside of the established cultural institutions and it continued until 2016 and 2017. It has often been politically engaged and at the same time it has been affected by the political changes in the country such as the 2011 uprising as well as the crackdown in freedom of expression that led to the imprisonment of street theatre artists in 2016 for insulting the authorities.
