During the month of February of 2022 in northwest Syria, OCHA observed a continuation of artillery shelling, a decrease in airstrikes, 9,484 new displaced people due to the deterioration of the economic situation, and an increase in COVID-19 cases.
World Food Programme (WFP): Syria Situation Report #1, January 2022
During the month of January of 2022, WFP observed a new record high of the monthly average reference food basket price since monitoring began in 2013, with food prices 34 percent higher than six months ago and 86 percent higher compared to the same time last year.
World Health Organization (WHO): Syria Monthly COVID-19 Bulletin February 2022
According to WHO, In February of 2022 an uptrend of new COVID-19 cases was reported in all governorates except for Hama, which saw a decrease by 31.5 percent. Overall, the number of reported cases in February across all of Syria increased by 329 percent compared with the previous month.
