Abdul Hadi Sadoun

 


Abdul Hadi Sadoun is an Iraqi author, born in Baghdad in 1968. He currently resides in Spain, where he has lived since 1993.

In addition to being a poet and short-story writer, Sadoun is also a researcher specializing in Spanish language and literature. In 2009, he was awarded the International Antonio Machado Prize for Poetry. He is the author of a number of works in both Arabic and Spanish, including The Day Wears a Suit Stained Red (1996), Treasures of Granada (1997), Framing Laughter (1998), Nothing but the Wind (2000), Family Plagiarisms (2002), Birds of the Mouth (2006), Always (2010), Strange Fields (2011), and Memoirs of an Iraqi Dog (2012).
