In this interview, Khalil Bendib of VOMENA speaks with Algerian scholar and activist Hamza Hamouchene about the ongoing movement, its endurance, and its promise for the future of Algeria. Hamza Hamouchene
Hamza Hamouchene is an Algerian political writer, researcher and activist. He is also a founding member of Algeria Solidarity Campaign (ASC), an organisation campaigning for peaceful democratic change and the respect of human rights in Algeria as well as Environmental Justice North Africa (EJNA) campaigning for climate/environmental justice and energy democracy in the North African region. His work appeared in Guardian, Counterpunch, Jadaliyya, openDemocracy, and Huffington Post.

Khalil Bendib is an awardwinning political cartoonist. His cartoons are featured in over two thousand small and midsize newspapers across the country, including many Muslim, African American, Arab, and other progressive publications and websites, and can be viewed at Muslim Observer, corpwatch.org, otherwords.org, and his own cartoon website, Bendib. He is the cohost of Voices of the Middle East and North African on KPFA Radio in Berkeley.
