Mehwash S. Ansari is a Master`s candidate at the Hagop Kevorkian Center for Near Eastern Studies at New York University. She holds a Bachelor’s degree with high honors from Mount Holyoke College, where she double majored in History and Law, Jurisprudence, and Social Thought. Her research focuses on sectarianism, forced migration, development, and welfare regimes. Her interests bear imprints of a summer volunteering at a Palestinian refugee camp in South Lebanon; working for the Aga Khan Foundation Pakistan, where she assessed a community health intervention in rural Chitral; participating in advocacy and awareness raising campaigns related to the Middle East in Boston and Western Massachusetts; and growing up in Pakistan.
