Thank you for your interest in Jadaliyya. We welcome all submissions. The most significant requirement is for Jadaliyya submissions to be analytically compelling and offer a perspective or argument that has not been covered at length either on Jadaliyya or elsewhere. Because of the volume of submissions, well-written pieces are prioritized. Length is flexible, 1000 to 2500 words is the average range. However, we will accept longer pieces. Once submitted, several members of the editorial committee will review your piece and one of them will inform you of the decision.

Francesco Cavatorta is associate professor in the Department of Political Science, Université Laval (Québec). He is the author of Civil Society Activism under Authoritarian Rule: A Comparative Perspective (Routledge, 2012), Civil Society and Democratization in the Arab World (co-authored with Vincent Durac, Routledge, 2010), and The International Dimension of the Failed Algerian Transition: Democracy Betrayed? (Manchester, 2009), and the co-editor (with Paul Aarts) of Civil Society in Syria and Iran: Activism in Authoritarian Contexts (Lynne Rienner, 2013).

Paola Rivetti is is Lecturer in Politics of the Middle East & International Relations at the School of Law and Government, Dublin City University, Ireland. Her research interests focus on the government of societies and polities in the Middle East from a comparative perspective; on Iranian politics; and on diaspora politics. She is the General Secretary of the Italian Association of Middle Eastern Studies (SeSaMO). She is a board member of the Lund University-based European Iran Research Group and regularly contributes to the blog "Presidential Power." She has published in British Journal of Middle Eastern Studies, Journal of European Integration, Democratization, Middle Eastern Studies, Mediterranean Politics, Alternatives: Global Local Political, Foreign Policy-Middle East Channel, and Jadaliyya, as well as the Chaillot Paper Series. She also co-edited Civil Society Effect. Practice and Rhetoric in Iran, Lebanon, Egypt and Morocco (2010, in Italian).​
