M.H.Ilias is Associate Professor and coordinator of the Gulf Studies programme, India Arab Cultural Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. Ilias completed his doctoral research in Middle Eastern Studies form the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. His current research addresses a range of issues relating to society and culture in the Arab Gulf countries. His published books include: India-West Asia Relations: Understanding Cultural Interplays (co-edited) Space Memory and Jewish National Identity, Society and Change in the contemporary Gulf (co-edited) and Arabs in India: Society, History and Culture (co-edited).
