Bashir Saade is an Interdisciplinary a Lecturer in Religion & Politics at the University of Stirling. He is the author of Hizbullah and the Politics of Remembrance, published with Cambridge University Press. His research interests centre on contemporary Islamic movements through their constantly negotiated and changing relation with states in the Middle East. He is also involved in a genealogical philosophical reading of crucial notions of early Arabic/Islamic scholarship as he engages in its early written and orally transmitted material which can inform the modern condition and the changes that took place in understandings of authority, religion and politics.
