Jeffrey SacksHe is the author of Iterations of Loss: Mutilation and Aesthetic Form, al-Shidyaq to Darwish (New York: Fordham University Press, 2015), which was awarded the Harry Levin Prize of the American Comparative Literature Association, and he has translated a volume of poetry by Mahmoud Darwish, Why Did You Leave the Horse Alone? (New York: Archipelago, 2006). He is presently writing a book about the history of the word “simplicity,” entitled Simplicities: A Colonial Archive.
